Honoring leadership and advocacy
The Fran Anderson Michigan PTA Scholarship honors high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership and advocacy through their involvement in PTA/PTSA. Each year, a minimum of one $1,000 scholarship is awarded, with additional scholarships available based on available funding.
This scholarship was established in honor of the late Fran Anderson, past president of Michigan PTA, whose unwavering advocacy for children left a lasting impact on our organization. Naming this scholarship in her honor recognizes her lifelong dedication to being a champion for every child.
Selection criteria
Recipients are selected by a committee of Michigan PTA Past Presidents based on the following:
- PTA/PTSA involvement
- Essay
- Community service
- Additional activities
- Academics
- Letters of recommendation
